Around the Town Events

Englewood, Florida was settled over 100 years ago, and its quaint Dearborn mainstreet is still a thriving commercial corridor. While you can always browse the antique, boutique and art galleries or dine at the eclectic eateries, during the festival the street will be teeming with activities for all ages! Party with the locals at the open-air music fest and block party, see the boats and their teams up close and personal as they parade down Dearborn Street. Stand Up Paddle Board Race

November (2nd weekend)

This world class event will feature 3 separate competitions — a thirteen mile Elite Race, a three mile Open Race, and a 1.5 mile Fun Paddle.
The Elite Race course will take place in intracoastal waters, paddling through a challenging pass, and entering the Gulf waters.
The Open Race, geared for the beginner and intermediate paddler, will take place on a course in the intracoastal water.
The Fun Paddle is for those who want to experience the beauty of Englewood Beach, and participate in a mellow paddle.
There will be a post race party and cook-out.

Family Fun Fishing Tournament

The tournament will focus on targeting Spanish Mackerel, a pelagic, fast swimming fish found in shallow, clear water over grass beds. They also frequent the areas near and along sandy beaches where they feed on schools of baitfish. They are aggressive feeders that will strike a wide variety of natural and artificial baits so they can be very easy to catch. No one loses in this tournament – lots of raffle prizes. You could take home a rod and reel combo, tackle box, cast net, or other prizes in our raffle drawing at the awards party and cookout.Englewood is set to take center stage in a celebration of our unique water resources and exceptional water based recreational opportunities. Englewood centric with a regional and national audience we have set out to showcase Englewood at its finest. So plan on joining us. As a volunteer, a sponsor, or a spectator. All are welcome. OPA/APBA Offshore World Championship

November (Third Friday, Saturday & Sunday)

On Friday night there is a parade of boats and the teams are on hand to answer your questions. On Saturday and Sunday multiple classes of Offshore Race Boats will take to the racecourse off Manasota Beach in Englewood. Hear the roar of massive horsepower converted to pure speed on the water by world-class throttle men and drivers with exciting hull-to-hull racing at speeds exceeding 200 mph. The World Championship brings out the best of the best to compete for the coveted title of World Champion!

You will be able to get a close look at the boats in the dry and wet pits as they test and qualify their boats on Thursday and Saturday. Watch our website for ticket information. VIP tickets, providing excellent viewing points on the Manasota Beach Boardwalk will also be available as will lodging packages with our preferred lodging partners.
